I grew up in New York city, (where I never quite felt like I fit in). I worked in Child protective services, as a caseworker, for several years (and although it was a rewarding field…I started to feel burnt out and needed a career change). After moving to Florida, I started volunteering for Miracle League of South Lake (where I finally started to feel like I fit in). On a whim I took a job offer at an adult Day Training. (This is where I discovered that working with adults with developmental disabilities was my calling). I soon transitioned into the field of Direct Support Professionals, where I felt led to start Nurturing Spirit and create enriching opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities.
I currently reside in Minneola FL where I have been a resident for 19 years (and where I now feel like I fit in) I am happily married to my high school sweetheart and together we have 3 sons. One of our sons has a developmental disability (he is my biggest motivator to help provide others with a healthier life experience.) In my spare time I enjoy volunteering with rescue animals and continue to volunteer for Miracle league of south lake.
My educational background includes an associate degree in liberal arts & science, from Suny Farmingdale. And a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lehman College.
